About the Principal
Welcome to Murphy's Hope Academy, a faith-based micro school in Harrisburg, NC, dedicated to nurturing and educating children in grades K-5. I am Dee Murphy-James, the Principal of Murphy's Hope Academy, and I am honored to lead this wonderful community of learners, educators, and families.
With over 30 years of experience in the field of education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and personal growth. I am proud to hold the distinction of being N.C. Legacy Certified, which is a testament to my enduring dedication to the teaching profession and my relentless pursuit of educational excellence.
Throughout my career, I have served as a mentor for teachers, helping to guide and inspire the next generation of educators. My role as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Facilitator has allowed me to focus on one of my greatest passions: promoting literacy and a love for reading among young learners. I believe that strong reading skills are the foundation of academic success and lifelong learning.
In addition to my teaching and mentoring roles, I am a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), a certification that underscores my commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning. This certification represents my dedication to continually improving my practice and ensuring that I provide the best possible education for my students.
