Academic Philosopy

Murphy's Hope Academy is dedicated to developing students toward becoming lifelong learners. Our students are immersed in classes that allow them to expand their minds and challenge their thinking. Murphy's Hope Academy strives to enrich and navigate the pace of academics during the school year as well as meet the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of our students. All students will participate in Physical Education, Art and Music on a weekly basis.

At Murphy's Hope Academy we use the Common Core Curriculum for Language Arts, Math and Social Studies. The Common Core State Standards is a set of high-quality academic standards in Mathematics, English Language Arts/Literacy and Social Studies. These learning goals outline what a student should know and be able to do at the conclusion of each grade-level. The standards were created to ensure that all students graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in institutions of higher learning, in their chosen careers and in life no matter where they live. The Common Core is informed by the highest, most effective standards from states across the United States and countries around the world.

Science

Murphy's Hope Academy also uses the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These standards set the expectations for what students should know and be able to do. NGSS was developed using researched-base, up-to-date science standards. These standards give our teachers the flexibility to design classroom learning experiences that stimulate student's interest in science and prepares them for institutions of higher learning, careers and citizenship.

Our goal is to assist our students in becoming enthusiastic lifelong learners and productive contributing citizens. This is why Murphy's Hope Academy is a Landmark for Excellence in Education.
